Thoughts

Time and time again I pick up my pen and try to scribble things down- my feelings, thoughts- hoping it will make me feel better or forget the current situation, but when I’m done I realise I have done nothing but create a world of fantasy that perfectly serves my desire. This is equivalent to what we read in books and see in movies; the authors portray these acts extraordinarily and then we go about expecting such to happen but are then distraught that our expectations don’t meet our reality. We are caught in a web spun out of contrivance. You could take the banality that men avoid committed relationships and are inclined to cheat as a case study, the women who are objects to this must have been brainwashed by this idea that they find it hard to be there and believe a young man who probably has the best intentions ever towards her. Contrary to this notion however, men are also depicted as true-blue romantics, gallant, manful… charming and with no problem at all in winning women’s hearts, you get the point. And once again these attributes fall short of the male species we encounter in our lives. Not because they do not possess these characteristics but because half the time we are too busy trying to make them be what we expose ourselves to, trying to make them perfect, trying to make them flawless, trying to make them impeccable. Just trying and trying forgetting that author’s do a good job at delineating our anticipation. All figments of their imaginations. As a result of this dissatisfaction, more often than not frustration and dismay sets in. Fait accompli!!! If I have sounded sexist in any way though, it was never my intention. My apologies
