Binary Feelings

i looked to the sky
and across my lips lay a wan smile
that echoed things beyond my might

i then began to fly

i had no wings,
but you were my captain

there were temptations & venoms,
pain for days & seasons
but we held onto reason

and teachings of order from chaos,
and teachings to discard the voices that distort my conscious & choices

you taught me power, you showed me how to manage my aura
you taught me how to change & dare to be supernatural

now that you’re not here
i shall make peace with your absence,
& i shall call you my preciousness
for what is learned never wastes
and that which was loved, will never be lost
